I am in a blogging mood today, so I shall blog about what I have been thinking and revising the most this 2009, other than the 5 modules i took.
Nope. Not TV, not food but why I have chosen what I chose :D
According to my wonderful mama, i will envy my friends for taking whatever courses they are taking, for whatever uni they are going, be it local or overseas.
So if this is really happening in the future, i will have to remind myself why i have chosen to take this path in my 19th year (no regrets!)
long post ahead!
Why local? Why not overseas?
A question asked three times and I answered it with so much justifications.
Obviously an overseas education would prove to be more exciting and fufiling compared to a local one. However, I chose local because my family is here and I can't sleep without mama (prior to pgp training). PLUS even with an scholarship, I will somehow have to dig money from family (not wise not wise). So a local uni will do just fine. Somemore NUS is also very recognised and there is always SEP to fight for, meaning best of both worlds! work hard for it!
why not medicine?
although it is very cool to be a doctor but come on,
ms low, you want to be a doctor when you can run around a clinic just to avoid a jab?
I definitely won't have the passion to convince the med interviewers.
不要害人害己
why not dentistry?
Reason is obvious. I fear going to the dentist, let alone handle others' teeth.
I am not a good dental role model
why not law?
I don't like to argue, especially in English.
Moreover, not every lawyers get to uphold justice, no matter how much they wanted to in the first place. I can't stand this dilemma.
why not business and accountancy?
ok, this is tough.
i gave up that ntu double degree because i've gotten a scholarship for psychology
although i think i am super interested in knowing how business and accountacy modules are like, i can't foresee myself as woking in the business sector.
why not science?
dear science, i am not sick of you i swear!
but i am a coward, i fear labs
why not maths?
i LOVE maths
If everything works out fine, I should be minoring in maths when i read this in the future.
why psychology?
Very unexpectedly, i chose psychology. I was against it initially because i don't want to read people's mind and behaviour (but luckily i was enlightened that this is a misconception).
Like I explained to the nice psychologist, I want to understand the link between environment and behaviour. Perhaps because of my family background?
Perhaps a understanding in this area can help me better understand other kids in the future.
alright i am feeling hungry now, shall leave why teaching for the next time!
i have so much to say :D
to me: Make the best out of whatever you have chosen :D
